Analysis of black hole spacetimes in general relativity

Presenting author: Gustav Holzegel

I will review recent progress in the black hole stability problem. In particular, I will describe in some detail two recent results obtained in collaboration with M. Dafermos and I. Rodnianski: 1) The linear stability of the Schwarzschild solution against gravitational perturbations and 2) boundedness and polynomial decay for solutions to the Teukolsky equation on slowly rotating Kerr spacetimes.
