The 9th CMAT's Open Day is an initiative of the Centre of Mathematics (CMAT), a Research Unit of the University of Minho (UMinho) with a Pole at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), and will be held at the Campus of Gualtar of the University of Minho, Braga, on October 16, 2026.
Following the idea of the previous editions, in 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, the CMAT's Open Day is dedicated to research topics developed by CMAT's members within the research groups Algebra, Logic and Computation (ALC), Analysis and Applications (ANAP), Geometry, Topology and Applications (GTA) and Statistics, Applied Probability and Operational Research (SAPOR).
The purpose of this initiative is to bring together CMAT's members from UMinho and UTAD, as well as PhD and MSc CMAT's students, providing an opportunity for them to present their scientific activity and discuss their areas of expertise. It is intended to present the scientific activities developed in CMAT to the Portuguese research community in Mathematics and also to Researchers from other fields with interest in Mathematics. Further, it represents an appropriate occasion to develop strategic collaborations at the level of research projects and post-graduate programs.
