Electrovortical formalism and plasma equilibria in black hole spacetimes

In this talk, I discuss the electrovortical formalism and its utility for studying steady-state plasmas in stationary black hole spacetimes. I describe some recent work on Beltrami equilibria which yield equation of state dependent magnetic field profiles on the horizon of Kerr black holes. I also discuss some ongoing work on exact force free solutions in the electrovortical formalism.
